This section provides information on superannuation, pensions and allowances, financial planning, Australian Government support services, and other relevant links and sites of interest. One of the most popular pages to date is the section on concessions and the Seniors Card. The Seniors Card entitles older Australians to a range of benefits provided by commercial and retail businesses. Free of charge, the Seniors Card is issued by every State and Territory Government around Australia. It is issued in recognition of the contribution that seniors have made, and continue to make, to the Australian community.

The following payments and concessions are also available for qualifying Australians over 50.

There are many concessions provided by the Australian Government for Australians over 50 including Health Cards, Tax offset programs, Medicare levies, and several telecommunications benefits.

The process of evaluating the investment and financial options available to an individual, planning to ensure an optimal return and projecting the consequences of those investment and financial decisions.

For Veterans, Indigenous Australians, those living in remote and rural areas and people from a multilingual background the following are available.

Commencing in July 2007, the per-fortnight payment of Special Rate Disability Pension will increase by $50 and the Intermediate Rate Pension by $25.

A $500 one-off bonus payment has been allocated to seniors in the Federal Government’s 2007-08 Budget. The purpose of this payment is to ensure older Australians share in the economic growth they helped create.

The Australian Taxation Office can help people who are experiencing difficulties meeting their tax obligations due to recent bushfires.
