Woodworking can mean a range of things, from wood carving, wood turning, and carpentry. Expert woodworkers can make everything imaginable out of wood, such as lounge furniture, hobby horses, cribs and cradles, sculptures, grandfather clocks, pillars and toys.

There are some health risks associated with wood dust so you should wear a face mask of some kind while working with wood. If you are interested in looking at woodwork sculptures, but not necessarily in working with wood yourself, there are many galleries and events around Australia each year that are dedicated to displaying and promoting woodworking creations.

If you would like to take up woodworking, the Ubeaut website is a great starting point. In addition to information and links about various types of woodworking, they also support forums on woodworking, where you can get tips from experts in the field. There are also a range of woodworking magazines you can buy to find out more.
