Question & Answer

We are discussing Overseas Volunteering
With Linda Elliot, Monica Kincade and Meghan Bailey

Question:
I am qualified in motor engineering and farming would like to assist in the top of Australia with Indigenous people

Answer:
Linda - For work in developing countries, ABV is interested in enquiries from qualified motor mechanics, particularly those with specialisation in certain parts of the industry. In terms of farming, people with specialist skills in e.g. cattle, poultry and pig breeding, organics or hydroponics are most welcome to apply. www.abv.org.au

There is a volunteer agency which works exclusively in Australian indigenous communities – called Indigenous Community Volunteers (ICV), started in 2001. They have a website which gives lots of information as well as listing their skills requirements and their email address is info@volindigenous.org.au
