Question & Answer

We are discussing Journeys through Australia
With Ian Henderson, Leanne Mousley, Bev Malzard

Question:
I am a recent retiree. I had been informed that I might be eligible for free/reduced fares for travelling interstate on railways. Where would I be able to access information regarding this?

Answer:
Ian - Australian Pensioner and Commonwealth Seniors Health Card Holders may be entitled to Concession Fares that are partly or fully funded by the Commonwealth or State governments on interstate trains operated by Great Southern Railway. To receive concessional travel fares, Great Southern Railway is required to confirm eligibility for the concession electronically with Centrelink. To qualify for Concession Fares, Australian Pensioner or Commonwealth Seniors Health Cards must be presented at the time of booking, must be valid as at the time of travel and must be carried at all times during travel.

For details of train journeys and pricing visit the Trainways website.
