The Senior Australian of the Year Award - 2004

State and National awards, which recognise and celebrate the contribution of older Australians to the community. This award is managed by the National Australia Day Council.

Tehree Gordon

Tehree has always had an affinity for animals, and now runs the Jirrahlinga Koala and Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to over 300 native animals. Through her sanctuary and work with animals, she has created a helping hands volunteer program for people who are unable to look after their pets, and works with abused children to build their self esteem.

Visit the Australian of the Year website for more information about the 2005 Senior Australian of the Year Awards.
