The following concessions may help you manage your phone bill:
Telephone Allowance
You will receive a Telephone Allowance if you have a Pensioner Concession Card or an Australian Government Seniors Health Card and you have a telephone connected in your or your partner's name.Telstra Pensioner Concessions
Telstra offers a wide range of services to help pensioners.
- The Telstra Bill Assistance Program is aimed at assisting people who are experiencing financial difficulty and are having a problem paying their Telstra home phone bill. If you are experiencing a financial crisis and are unable to pay your Telstra fixed home telephone bill, you can access community welfare agencies for advice and help.
- Telstra’s InContact service is intended for people who are unable to afford a telephone service. This service is provided free of monthly line rental. Connection fees and eligibility criteria may apply for this service. It allows you to be contactable via incoming calls, and also provides the security of limited outgoing call access.
- Centrepay helps you pay your telephone account if you are a Centrelink customer and your telephone company is registered with Centrepay.
- If you want a phone line connected, but don't make many outgoing calls, Telstra provides options such as the HomeLine Budget service. This service provides a lower line rental charge than standard services but has relatively higher call charges.
- Telstra offers monthly, two monthly or quarterly bills for your Telstra home phone. You can also request a single bill for eligible Telstra fixed home, mobile, BigPond Home and FOXTEL from Telstra services, a summary bill, a Braille bill, a large print bill, or an online bill.
- If you have a disability and find it difficult to use a standard phone, Telstra has a wide range of products that can make accessing a phone easier for you.
