Feedback
These activities are all excellent forms of low cost, gentle exercise which can be done all year round in your own time, by yourself or with others.
For cycling, you can pick up bike maps from your local council or information centre and explore your region or join bike clubs in your area.
Swimming pools have often got exercise classes for mature people. Check your council or yellow pages for the one nearest you.
There are plenty of walking and bushwalking groups in all parts of Australia and many cater for all levels of activity and ability. Check with your local council for the group nearest you.
For information regarding bushwalking visit the website for the Confederation of Bushwalking Clubs New South Wales. On their site is a list of bushwalking clubs outside of NSW/ACT.
The Heart Foundation Walking (HFW) is a network of free community-based walking groups with volunteer Walk Organisers that lead groups in their local area. HFW builds upon the very successful Heart Foundation Just Walk It program that has been in operation in some states since 1995.
