The Superannuation Complaints Tribunal is an independent Tribunal set up by the Australian Government to deal with complaints about:

  • superannuation funds
  • annuities and deferred annuities
  • retirement savings accounts or RSAs

It does this through conciliation to try to resolve the complaint, and if this is not possible, a formal review of the decisions or conduct to which the complaint relates.
The Tribunal is required to be fair, economical, informal and quick.

There is no application fee for lodging a complaint with the Tribunal, nor are any of the Tribunal’s costs charged to you. Any other costs are the responsibility of each of the parties to the complaint, whatever the outcome.
