Smart water use
Feedback
Did you know that Australia is the world's driest inhabited continent? Droughts and floods are common and many of our river water levels constantly rise and fall. In recent years we have seen our river levels mainly fall. Australia’s water resources sustain 64 wetlands of international importance and more than 850 of national importance.
Water use is becoming increasingly important as it affects Australia’s rural and regional areas, city life, economic and environmental welfare.
The Government has released water restrictions 'stages' as a way of managing our water use. In the 'garden' and in the 'home' are two crucial areas where you should make sure that you are being water smart.
A useful website to visit for information on smart water use is Savewater.com.au . This website has sections on every area in your life where you may use water including practical suggestions, tips, technology and advice on saving water in the home, garden and business.
Savewater.com.au worked with the government on this water saving project.
