"We know all the answers but no one asks the questions". Seniors Tell Youth Life Experiences (STYLE) is a project which joins students and older people together for the mutual benefit of learning. Students will meet people who have witnessed events over the past years after having been there, to hear their recollections of that time. Students will then have the opportunity to ask questions about their experiences.

The goal of STYLE is to encourage schools & colleges to ask for Stylers- senior Australians, who meet specific needs of information on a topic that they are studying. Stylers are volunteers getting the opportunity to meet young people and break the barriers of perception between the generations in Australia and to contribute to the development of Australian oral history. Stylers are available to speak to class size or smaller groups on many topics including: the Vietnam War or the Great Depression.

If you would like to be a Styler, or if you would like STYLE to come to your school, please contact Frank Millburn 02 6286 1495 or Phill Dodd from the Australian Capital Territory Education Department on the below number.
