Genealogy is defined as the study of the origins and descent of families; a written history of the descent of a person or family from an ancestor. It is a popular interest and has been made even easier with the advent of the internet. The most comprehensive directory for genealogy is located at the Australian National Library, which provides and extensive range of resources to enable you to access all the relevant information you require to trace your family history with relevant tips and advice. Other sources of additional information and advice can be sourced from the National Archives of Australia and the Australian War Memorial.
