You may qualify for Rent Assistance if you receive a pension, allowance or benefit from Centrelink.
You must also pay more than a certain amount for rent, service and maintenance fees in a retirement village, lodging, fees paid to use a site for a caravan that is your principal home, or fees paid to moor a vessel you occupy as your principal home.
If you are in public housing or are in an Australian Government funded aged care home you are not eligible for this payment.
Payment varies according to your individual circumstances.
