About Jacinta Dugbaza
My name is Jacinta Dugbaza and I am a dietitian and nutritionist. I am an Accredited Practising Dietitian, a member of the Dietitians Association of Australia, Public Health Association of Australia and Diabetes Australia.
Presently, I work in the Nutrition Section of the Department of Health and Ageing in Canberra, where I provide policy advice and nutrition expertise on Australian Government food and nutrition strategies and programs.
I have over 15 years experience in food and nutrition work, and have worked as a clinical dietitian in a number of hospitals including Goulburn Base Hospital, Woden Valley Hospital now The Canberra Hospital and Gosford Hospital.
I have also had many years of experience in initiating and implementing community nutrition programs to a range of target groups including older adults, school children, and mothers. I have worked as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of health professionals and as a sole practitioner in both metropolitan and rural areas and have enjoyed my hands-on work in these areas.
I believe good nutrition is important at every stage of life and we cannot outgrow the need for healthy eating. I look forward to our discussions on healthy eating for Older Adults for as the saying goes ‘WE ARE WHAT WE EAT’.
