About Tehani Wessely
I have been reading stories and consequently writing them since I was about six years old. A love affair with speculative fiction blossomed in my late teens -- after flings with horse stories, romance novels and teen angst -- and is still as exciting now as it was then. I became involved with a non-profit organisation with a charter to produce a magazine of speculative fiction (Andromeda Spaceways) about six years ago. I have now edited four issues of the print magazine (which recently published #31) as well as the inaugural three Best Of ASIM anthologies in electronic form.
As a teacher, I love to encourage and share with my students methods to achieve the stories they hold inside them, and to assist them in learning the conventions of different types of texts. I have studied journalism, communications, literature, short story writing and teacher librarianship, and am currently undertaking a Graduate Diploma in Editing and Publishing. I once had a story shortlisted for a national award, have produced a booklet telling a family history story, regularly write reviews, interviews and occasional articles for publication in Andromeda Spaceways and other forums, and have written numerous news articles for local papers.
