Prostate Cancer will affect one in eleven men over the age of 65, and as it is a slow growing cancer, it is non life threatening in many cases. Prostate cancer can be treated in a variety of ways including watchful waiting, surgery, radiotherapy and hormone therapy.

The Lions Australian Prostate Cancer website has a comprehensive forty-three page booklet available for download. This booklet describes common reactions to finding out you have prostate cancer, and gives strategies men can use to help themselves at this time. It covers decision-making, supporting family and friends and stress reduction, amongst many other things.

Further information is available at the Better Health Channel: Prostate Cancer, and via the website for the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
