Older People Speak Out (OPSO) People’s Choice Media Awards - 2007
Older people are forming a larger proportion of the Australian population than ever before. However, this numerical strength is not reflected in the media and negative media reports can encourage negative feelings about ageing and older people in the community.
OPSO People’s Choice Media Awards are aimed at breaking this cycle, and encouraging the media to portray older people as they really are - active and contributing.
The OPSO People’s Choice Media Awards call on all Australians to nominate examples of positive media coverage of older people.
