Learning Communities are neighbourhoods, villages, towns, cities and regions that promote lifelong learning in every aspect of life. Learning Communities are made up of community members, lead by community members and so are a platform for community action.

The Learning Communities Catalyst (LCC) unites Learning Communities around Australia, all of which centre around four core functions of learning in a community:

  1. to develop skills
  2. to grow business
  3. to foster collaboration
  4. to strengthen community

On the LCC site, you will find tool sets for Learning Communities, including: audit and evaluation, capacity building, promotion and fundraising, internet tools and tutorials. For further information on becoming a member, creating a Learning Community or to find a Learning Community near you, go to: Learning Communities Catalyst .
