Question:
I am 55 and plan to retire next year. I would love to go to university but I think I am too old to study with 18 year olds?!
Answer:
Barbara - You would be surprised how many ‘mature-age’ students are studying at university today - indeed in some of our courses we have to warn the young-uns that they will be in the minority!
Have a look for your local universities’ Open Days (usually held in August or September) and go along and speak to the staff in courses that interest you. One of Australia’s greatest asset is our mature-age learners and our universities do have a number of ways that you can enter these days, not just the Year 12 score.
