Question & Answer

We are discussing Lifelong - Lifewide Learning
With Barbara Pamphilon, Dorothy Braxton, Mary Hannan and Gloria Robbins

Question:
I'm retired and live on my own in a small place in Tasmania, too far for me to access the university in Hobart or community classes on a regular basis. Can you suggest something I can do? Perhaps some sort of course online? I don't want to spend a fortune but want to keep my brain from becoming atrophied. - Meg

Answer:
Dorothy - You might like to look at U3A Online's website to see the range of courses they're offering, all of which can be done from home. The address is http://www.u3aonline.org.au

The courses offered vary from Writing Fiction and Writing Poetry to ones on Antarctica and Religions of the World. The most popular U3AOL ones seem to be ones on writing a diary and journal and the one on genealogy.

Have a look at what's on offer by going to the site and click on the Courses link on the left hand side of the page. On the Learning Online page you'll see a hyperlink called Courses List. Have a look at the full list there.

To do the ones listed as TAT ones (TAT, the Third Age Trust - the UK umbrella organisation for their U3As) you must first register through U3AOL - see instructions on the website. Any problems come back to me. Enjoy!
