With Barbara Pamphilon, Dorothy Braxton, Mary Hannan and Gloria Robbins

Question:
What level of study can I enter into? There seems to be Bachelors and certificates, how does it work for us

Answer:
Barbara - We are very lucky in Australia as we have a well designed formal education pathway called the Australian Qualifications Framework that means that there are a range of levels at which you can study to best suit where you are at and what experience , background and prior knowledge you have. If you go to http://www.aqf.edu.au/aboutaqf.htm you will see qualification range from Certificates to PhDs . Many people start at a Certificate if they have been away from formal learning for a while and then can move on to Diplomas and degrees. Other people may choose to go straight to university, however I would strongly recommend the university preparation courses that are offered by most universities as that is a wonderful way to develop your learning skills and to be confident in how university study can be best managed and enjoyed. If you use the web to search for possible courses, look for the ‘mature-age’ entry requirements as that is the category for those of us over 21! Or of course you could attend Open Days ( which are usually in August or September) .
