As of October 1 this year, thousands of Australians who have hearing difficulties now have access to some of the latest hearing device technology free of charge through the Australian Government Hearing Services Program.

If you are in need of a hearing device then you may be eligible to choose from digital devices from 14 different hearing device manufacturers. The new hearing devices have higher specifications including advanced features such as directional microphones and noise suppression.

The Hearing Services Program also comprises of a variety of services including: hearing assessments, fitting of hearing devices and the provision of batteries and repairs. These services are offered across the country.

Those eligible for the services include pensioner and Veterans’ concession card holders.
