Access to quality health care is a basic right for all older Australians regardless of their background or location. While there are many care and support services available that are designed to meet the needs of older Australians, some groups of people require access to specific services.
Veterans, Indigenous Australians, those from multilingual backgrounds and people in rural and remote areas all have particular needs that must be provided so their quality of life is maintained and enhanced.
Ageing and aged care resources are often available in other languages. There are also free translation services that you can use to access information.
There are a wide range of health services dedicated to the health problems and issues of Indigenous Australians over 50.
A number of programs and services exist that address the unique healthcare needs of older Australians in rural and regional areas.

Older Australians from non-english speaking backgrounds are catered for by a range of specialist programs and services.
