Centrelink issues the following concession cards:

  • Pensioner Concession Card;
  • Health Care Card;
  • Commonwealth Seniors Health Card.

These cards may provide eligible people with access to:
  • pharmaceuticals listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) at the concessional rate;
  • bulk-billed doctors (GPs) appointments, at the discretion of the doctor (the Government provides financial incentives for GPs to bulk-bill concession card holders);
  • a reduction in the cost of out-of-hospital medical expenses above a certain threshold;
  • concessions from state and local governments and some private organisations. These concessions may vary from State to State.
