Family Violence Protection Legal Services (FVPLS)

The Australian Government funds 13 FVPLS which provide holistic assistance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults and children who are victims of family violence, including sexual abuse, or who are at immediate risk of such violence. FVPLS provide legal assistance including court support, sexual assault counselling, crisis counselling, information and referral, community education and an advocacy role.
