Question & Answer

We are discussing Falls Prevention
With Suzanne Ralston and Beverley Steer

Question:
Would you say that the elderly are disadvantaged physically?

Answer:
Suzanne- Older people are a very diverse group and as in any age group, there will be people who have physical conditions and health problems and people who don’t. There are many seniors in our community who have shown that they are capable of great physical achievements, but you don’t need to run a marathon or climb a mountain to stay healthy and active. It is important for people in any age group to stay as physically active as possible.

It is a good idea to see your doctor before starting any new exercise and to start slowly and build up gradually. It is important to choose an activity that you are interested in and enjoy because you are much more likely to stick with it!
