We are discussing Falls Prevention
With Suzanne Ralston and Beverley Steer

Question:
My mother is 85, how do you suggest she reduces her risk of falling?

Answer:
Bev - Over recent years, health services and providers have had significant gains in managing the risk factors that lead to falls and falls related injury at an individual level. Injury reduction and falls prevention programs incorporate measures such as:

*Promoting good health by maintaining hysical activity

*Having regular check-ups by your doctor and other medical specialists

*Receiving advice and support on safe consumption of alcohol and medications

*Regularly engaging and participating within your Community support and services groups
