fortyfivedownstairs are pleased to announce the cast and creative team for the world premiere season of Patricia Cornelius’ award-winning play Do not go gentle... directed by Julian Meyrick at fortyfivedownstairs in August 2010.

Do not go gentle... will feature the following cast Paul English (Peter), Jan Friedl (Maria), Rhys McConnochie (Scott), Terry Norris (Evans), Anne Phelan (Wilson), Pamela Rabe (Bowers) and Malcolm Robertson (Oates).

The creative team for Do not go gentle... includes Julian Meyrick (director), Marg Horwell (set and costume design), Richard Vabre (lighting design) and Irine Vela (composer).

fortyfivedownstairs artistic director Mary Lou Jelbart is excited to be producing this new Australian work Do not go gentle..., “a wonderful play which has attracted a stellar company of superb actors.”

Meyrick is thrilled to work with this talented Melbourne cast, “who between them have over three hundred years of professional experience in live theatre. Patricia's inspiring play will bring out the best in this intelligent, gifted ensemble.”

Do not go gentle... has received funding from the Australia Council Theatre Board and Arts Victoria and is supported by the Hartline Fund of Melbourne Community Foundation, Yarra Trams and Starling Communications. fortyfivedownstairs is seeking further funding and support for the production.
