Centrelink Agents

Centrelink has a large network of local community agents who are contracted to provide a variety of services on Centrelink's behalf. They can respond to most general inquiries and provide a direct link to Centrelink staff if more assistance is needed.

Agents provide a range of services including access to Centrelink forms, sending information directly to a local Customer service Centre, use of a freecall phone service to contact Centrelink and organising an appointment at the nearest Customer Service Centre.

Many agents provide access to the Internet and Job Network, faxes, photocopiers and printers. Some agents are able to provide video conferencing that can be used to conduct interviews with Centrelink staff, reducing the need to travel to the nearest office.

Agents also provide job vacancy details and career information.

Centrelink Visiting Services

Many Centrelink Customer Service Centres conduct visiting services to places in rural and remote Australia.

The frequency of these visits and types of services offered are usually based on consultations with the local community and the specific needs of the people involved. Staff conducting visiting services can provide specific information on entitlements, general advice and assistance with forms.
