Therapy services, which may include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and podiatry, can be provided to frail aged people who are living in the community or who are residents of Australian Government funded aged care homes.

The aim of the program is to assist people to either maintain or recover a level of independence and enables them to remain either in the community or in low level residential care.

There are many Australian Government funded Day Therapy Centres operating nationally. The centres vary in size and in the range of therapy services they provide. The Centre will develop an agreed care plan for you and may refer you to other service providers if necessary. A small fee is payable.
