Triking in Sydney
My strongest memory of the 1940s was riding up and down my rather steep street in suburban Sydney on my metal trike. My brother, who was older than me, used to race me down the street. I haven’t lived in Sydney for 30 years now, and when I go back it seems like a different place to the Sydney that I remember from my childhood.
My family never had a lot, but we never wanted for anything either. I think that was the standard for all of the families where we lived in the late 40s.
Merryl, Coffs Harbour, New South Wales
