Dancing through the 50s

My first real date was when I was 15. I was going round with a boy from the local private school in Charters Towers, where I went to an all girls boarding school. He took me out to dinner and then we went to the inter-school social dance together. There was no drinking, no drugs, it was just good clean fun.

We went on many dates after that, mostly out rock 'n roll dancing, we even decided to take official rock and roll dancing classes so we could improve our dancing (we were pretty good anyway I thought!!). The process of dating is much less official these days than when we were dating, I think it has changed for the better. I think boys and girls interact a lot more at a younger age these days and that is a healthy thing.
