Question & Answer

We are discussing Surfing through Computers and the Internet
With Nathanael Boehm, Nan Bosler and DCITA

Question:
Do I have to type http:// in front of website addresses?

Answer:
Nathanael - The http:// in a URL is an important part of accessing a website, however you don't have to type it in yourself - all modern web browsers will add it in for you automatically.

However your browser won’t automatically put in the “www” if the site you’re loading has a www in front of the address. Many sites will work with or without the www, but some will not.
