Question:
My problems are with Internet Explorer where, on accessing a webpage, part of a message appears stating that IE cannot access the website when in fact it already has! Also the back and the forward browser will fail to respond until I have clicked it at least 3 or 4 times. I am using the latest version of IE with XP.
Answer:
Nathanael - There are several possible error messages related to Internet Explorer not being able to properly access a website, and without further information I can't give a definite answer - although even then it may be impossible to diagnose the problem without on-site support.
If this is happening with a single site then it's possibly a problem with that particular site. If it's happening with several or all other websites you try to load then obviously it's a problem with your Internet Explorer, the way it's configured or your computer.
The second part of your problem suggests that Internet Explorer may be running sluggishly if it takes several clicks to trigger the Back and Forward buttons - do the other buttons in Internet Explorer or other applications respond slowly? If your computer isn't powerful enough to run Windows XP or the hard drive is highly fragmented then you may see unusual random errors - check the requirements of your operating system and other applications you run on your computer and make sure your computer meets those requirements. I would also suggest the usual things like running a virus scanner, spyware scanner, defrag and also try rebooting your computer. If you aren't familiar with how to do this then please enlist the help of an experienced and credible computer technician to assist with troubleshooting the problem.
