Question & Answer

We are discussing Surfing through Computers and the Internet
With Nathanael Boehm, Nan Bosler and DCITA

Question:
I wish to check my emails while on holiday. How do I do this and delete emails I have read?

Answer:
Nathanael - Most Internet Service Providers (ISP) will have a "Webmail" facility which you can log into to read and manage your email while it's still on the mail server, instead of having to download it all onto your computer first. Typically the username and password will be the username or email address and password you set up with your ISP when first registering for Internet access.

For your particular ISP, the Webmail icon is visible on the ISPs home page on the left side: the white envelope.

You can use Webmail just as you would any other online email service like Hotmail, Gmail etc. After you log in, click on Inbox or Mail. You can click on emails to read them and then delete them or bulk delete using the checkboxes next to the emails and clicking on "Delete" to delete all checked emails.

Remember that anything you delete on the mail server through Webmail will never be able to be downloaded to your computer.
