Question:
What is the best way of getting rid of the virus which causes me to push every button twice when I'm on the internet (except typing keys)?
Answer:
Nathanael - The problem you're experiencing doesn't sound like a virus. Viruses and related software are malicious programs designed to allow hackers access to your data, reduce system performance, bring down your system, destroy files etc. The symptoms you describe do not sound like the work of a malicious program like a virus.
However of course as in all suspicious events occurring on your computer you should run a virus scan, update your virus definitions, check your firewall security and employ whatever other security measures you have available to ensure it's not a virus.
If the scan comes up clean, then I'd suggest the problem you are experiencing is either due to sluggish computer performance due to running an operating system with greater computer spec requirements than what you have, or non-optimal device drivers or simply having too many applications, services and processes running all at once.
I suggest you have an experienced and recommended computer technician take a look at your computer to make sure it's clean and to improve performance by removing unnecessary Terminate and Stay Resident (TSR) applications. Defragmenting your hard drive may also improve overall computer performance.
