Community services

As an important support for community life, community services are organisations usually formed and maintained by everyday Australians with the goal to support such people as grandparents and Australians over 50.

 

The Contact Online Community Information Directory is an initiative of the Citizens Advice Bureau of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).

Covers state and national support services for Australians over 50 who have taken on the role of grandparenting for one reason or another.

Just Look and InfoXchange Service Seeker are two directories for community support services around the country.

Local Information Network for Community Services: information is accessed through selecting one of the over 31 local government areas covered.

Infoxchange Service Seeker is an electronic directory of community support services.

The Seniors Enquiry Line is a statewide information and referral service linking seniors, their family, friends and carers with community information.

The Community Information Strategies Australia (CISA) Infosearch is an online database of over 1500 South Australian health and community services.

Infoline Tasmania (Glenorchy and Southern Tasmania only) provides a comprehensive free information and referral service to the community.

Covers a state-wide database and a guide to services for senior Victorians.
