Community

In addition to providing a huge range of factual information relevant to older Australians, seniors.gov.au provides a wide range of exciting community-building features. These features enable you to interact with other people with similar interests and ensures that this online resource reflects the opinions and addresses the issues of direct relevance to Australians over 50. These community features are all available from the 'seniors.gov.au community' menu, located on the right hand side of every page (from the 'Community navigation' section in a text browser).

Feature Description

Living History Every two months we will invite you to tell us your story about a significant event in Australian history, where were you and what were you doing? We will then publish your contributions on the site.

Q&A Forum Every month we will invite you to send in your questions on a current topic to be answered. We will pass your questions on to the best person on our panel to answer it and the answers will be posted on the site for you to look at.

Meeting Place At the Meeting Place you can meet and talk with others who share your interests. Topics of discussion include such things as travel, genealogy and entertainment.

Events Calendar The Events Calendar lists events in your local area and around Australia. The types of events covered include arts and crafts, gardening and sporting events.

Email Update By subscribing to the email update you will be informed when new information is added to the site, or when other people post new contributions to the Q&A Forum or Living History.

Games This section is currently under redevelopment. We will let you know as soon as the new game is up and running for you to enjoy.
