The Carer Allowance (adult) and the Carer Support (child) are supplementary payments available to parents or carers who provide daily care and attention at home for adults or children with a disability or severe medical condition. You must live in the same home as the person you are caring for.

This payment is non-taxable and is not subject to an income or assets test. Carer Allowance may be paid in addition to Carer Payment or other payments, such as the Age Pension.
