Online book reviews are an excellent resource to utilise prior to purchasing or lending books.

There are an extensive range of websites available that provide book reviews to varying levels of expertise and knowledge. Many commercial websites provide a summary of books and a large number of quality literary magazines and newspaper review sections are online and provide a wealth of information covering book reviews.

An excellent starting point could be at the National Library of Australia which has a comprehensive range of directories covering all components of books and literature with the relevant links.

Another excellent search site is the Culture and Recreation Portal, which also provides a diverse range of book review options.

You can also visit Amazon and Barnes and Noble, which are highly comprehensive buying and reviewing sites.

The New York Review of Books, provides a broad range of book reviews of a high standard.
