Aromatherapy is a therapeutic treatment using natural essential oils blended with a base oil such as almond oil. The oil is then used with a specialised massage, an oil burner or applying the oil blend to your skin/clothes which enhances wellbeing, relieves stress and helps in the rejuvenation and regulation of the human body. The essential oils are individually blended for each customer. Aromatherapy is enjoyable for both the mind and body, and used for purely for the purpose of pleasure as well as medicinal.

Essential oils are extracted by distilling seeds, flowers, peal, zest, grass, leaf's, roots, and woods of plants. Smell is a very powerful sense, and when used with the other senses or purely its own, essential oils can be relaxing, uplifting, and healing.

The International Federation of Aromatherapists (I.F.A) is an organisation especially for Aromatherapists and people interested in aromatherapy.

To find an Aromatherapist near you, where to study Aromatherapy or for further information on aromatherapy go to the International Federation of Aromatherapists web site.

To read about some Essential Oils and their uses, you can visit the Australian Government Department of Rural Industries Research and Developement Corporation and their 'Essential Oils and Plant Extracts Research Program'.
