The new Aged Care Australia website was officially launched on Thursday 30 November by Senator the Hon Santo Santoro, Minister for Ageing. Since then the site has received over 100,000 unique visitors.

This website is a one-stop shop for people wanting the latest on aged care. The site includes comprehensive information from all levels of government and non-government agencies as well as great interactive features. It will help you to make informed decisions about aged care options for you and your family members by teaching you about the language of aged care and how to navigate around the many services. You will also be able to talk effectively with aged care service providers.

The site is also packed with great interactive features.

Aged Care Home Finder

For the first time ever, you can search online for aged care homes in your local area. The Aged Care Home Finder can provide you with details on the home and even photographs. You can also compare several homes against each other. The information is supplied by the Australian Government and the aged care homes themselves and is provided in an unbiased and non-commercial way.

Community Care Service Finder

For those needing help staying at home, the Community Care Service Finder allows you to search for care services in your local area, including: personal and domestic care, transport services, home maintenance and modification, respite care, meals services and carer support just to name a few.

My page

The My Page feature of the website enables you to store material you have selected from the site. When you return to the site you can access this information again or update it. You can even share it with your family and friends by giving them access to your My Page, or by printing the information out.
